The Aspen Hive Provides Space to Empower Locals, Women.

Going into its third month of business, The Aspen Hive is already making its mark on the community. “Having a local store, I try to keep the prices down and affordable for locals to shop in, but also there’s something to be said for the change in Aspen, and we’re trying to keep it as local and small as possible,” Jankowski said. “To have something that people feel like they can shop in town is, to me, very important, and it’s also been quite humbling to see who really supports you.”

The Newly-Opened Aspen Hive Is A Cut Above.

Creating quite the buzz around town, Cynthia Jankowski opened The Aspen Hive as a retail concept that focuses on community and caters specifically to locals—all the while big brand names continue to squeeze out small businesses. A jewelry lover’s paradise, the shop features new jewelry pieces by American-based designers and female goldsmiths. The name of the boutique pays homage to Jankowski’s female support system, because it is the female bees that build a hive.

    Her Treasure

Locally owned and operated jewelry store The Aspen Hive in downtown Aspen is a unique business that empowers locals and celebrates the strong women who helped build the shop into what it is today. “This space in our little town has housed a jewelry store for over 50 years,” Jankowski shares. “The names of the store have changed, but everyone always remembers the space as a jewelry store. I want to keep the legacy going.”

    Bold Journey

My advice for people early in their journey is JUMP! Take the leap! It sounds a little silly but “trust the path” and if it fails it’s ok! You will learn a lot from it. And even if it feels like it's spinning out of control and not happening… dont worry. It will. Just keep being proactive. Its not easy but it then somehow some way… happens.
